Accessing the Editor
The Editor is accessible in three different ways:
- Users can access the Editor from the user dashboard of the EL-CID Online dashboard. The link to the Editor is in the upper right hand corner of the dashboard.
- The Editor is accessible from the web. Click on this link to the Editor page.
- If an SSRF or .cid file has already been attached to a certification request, users can open that file in Editor by clicking on the pencil icon next to the document in Explorer.
Using the Documents Page
To access the Editor through the documents page, follow these steps:
1. From the workflow Requests dashboard, select a request from the My Tasks table to enter the task form for that request.
2. From the task form, select the Documents link.
3. The link opens the documents page in a separate browser tab.
4. To edit SSRF documents, select a pencil icon (highlighted in the image above) to access the Editor. Pencil icons will only appear in SSRF document rows because only SSRF documents may be edited using the Editor.
Browser Compatibility
EL-CID Online and the EL-CID Online Help Manual support the following browsers:
- Vendor supported versions of Chrome
- Vendor supported versions of Firefox
- Vendor supported versions of the new Chromium-based Edge browser
When saving Editor data, the default setting for Chrome is to download files to your local Downloads folder with a default name. To change where to download files, go to chrome://settings/downloads and turn on "Ask where to save each file before downloading". Some browsers are configured to prevent or restrict file downloads. Once the file is downloaded, find the directory where it was downloaded and rename the file with the default name. If you are having difficulty downloading your file, please contact your Agency System Administrator.
Other browsers, such as Internet Explorer may function, but there is no guarantee that all the features will work properly.
